I've had a writing streak in me since at least, like, 4th grade (or so). I remember starting to write a story, with working title "The Bird and the Squirrel" (or something of that accord). I only remember that there was a bird and a squirrel character. The file for that is, at best, buried in a harddrive that hasnt been accessed in years. I've had occasional chances to engage in creative writing, but a majority of my writing experience, now, is in academia. I've gotten pretty good at writing (though, my way of wording things can be very, very confusing and needs do-overs sometimes, and sometimes I skip words in writing...). During college, I started up my own DnD game as a DM, which naturally involves a lot of writing. While I don't use scripts for this, it requires thinking ideas out and how situations may play out. It was fun and I loved running it, though it has been on hiatus since like 2024 because of various factors (maybe I'll make a page dedicated to that). Cut to 2024, when I finally finished House of Leaves. This book was a major inspiration for me and got me really interested in ergodic books, and the many ways their principles can be implemented. Within a month, I developed my own idea for a (furry) story with bird people in a post-apocalypse earth (think overgrown, not desert). Within this, I could implement various elements of ergodic literature. Later on, my bf and I had an idea together for another story entirely which could implement footnotes (much like House of Leaves).
